About Glynn Nicholas
A favourite with Australian audiences, Glynn Nicholas is well known for his unique brand of comedy, visual and physical theatre.
Whether 'treading the boards' in one of his own touring productions or entertaining at a tailor-made corporate function, Glynn sings, mimes, interacts and engages with every performance.
Glynn Nicholas began his career in as a street performer in Munich. Within three months he had developed one of the biggest musical comedy acts on the European circuit with crowds of over a thousand people regularly blocking the streets and town squares.
For the next ten years, he travelled the world, winning numerous international and national competitions (including the Australian Busking Championships in 1986) and was acknowledged as one of the most innovative acts of his time.
From 1987 to 2001 in a transition from solo performer to full-time writer/producer/director, his one-person and ensemble shows received outstanding reviews and covered a vast array of performance styles including theatre, opera, musicals, cabaret, open-air events, festivals, concerts, dance and vaudeville. They include; Kissing Frogs, Crossing The Line, Wrung Out, Pumping Irony and, more recently, in the acclaimed hit Certified Male.
Television credits include his own ten-part sitcom series on ABC Television The Glynn Nicholas Show and The Big Gig.
Other numerous special guest appearances have included Tonight Live with Steve Vizard, The Denise Show, The Midday Show, What's Cooking, Hey Hey It's Saturday, Live and Sweaty, Carols by Candlelight, Recovery, Good Morning Australia, The Russell Gilbert Show, The Footy Show and many more.
In 2004, Glynn starred in his first major film role starring alongside Paul Hogan and Michael Caton in Strange Bedfellows.
