About Stephen Abbott
Stephen Abbott is an enduring part of the Australian comedy landscape. He is best known for his character Sandman or “Sandy” which he has been performing for the past ten years.
As the Sandman he has performed on numerous radio programs including: ABC radio series The 21st and Sunstruck Guest House, Triple M’s Breakfast Show with Amanda Keller, Mikey Robins and Peter Berner, Triple J’s Breakfast Show with Wil Anderson and Adam Spencer and Triple J’s Drive Time Show with Merrick and Rosso.
He also performed as Sandy on television programs such as The Fat, Good News Week, Good News Week Lite and Good News Weekend for ABC television and Network Ten. He is also host of his own tonight show on SBS Television In Siberia Tonight.
His writing credits include seven books. Stephen is also an accomplished live performer having undertaken extensive live stand-up tours with some of Australia’s most seasoned comics.
