About Mark Weeks
Mark is a musical satirist who writes and performs original songs as well as irreverent lyrics to well known tunes and accompanies himself by playing the piano. Through the use of music and verse and the application of brilliant satirical wit, Mark Weeks reduces any subject however complex to a level of ridicule, which is far from offensive.
Mark writes and performs songs that are outrageously funny and remain in the minds of the audience long after his performance is over. With over one thousand songs to his credit Mark can adapt his art to encapsulate any subject matter in song.
Robotics for IBM Australia, insider trading for The Australian Stock Exchange, superannuation legislation for AMP, manic depression for Pfizer, electronic banking for Westpac, budgetary implications for Ernst & Young, ASA 9000 for The Australian Quality Council, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis for Baxter Healthcare, computer languages for Data General, the gold index for The Chamber of Mines & Energy aboriginal land rights for The Housing Industry Association and laparoscopic investigation in the analysis of Australian politico-cranial development for The Royal Australian College of Surgeons.
His radio and television appearances over a period of ten years with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and a number of commercial networks have gained him wide acceptance throughout Australia.
Mark's satirical comments on events of the day, political, social and lifestyle have been broadcast weekly on ABC metropolitan radio and Radio National and the 7.30 Report.
The songs of Mark Weeks were also broadcast on the Alan Jones breakfast programme of Sydney’s top rating Radio 2UE. Mark has received many awards over the years including three Gold Awards from the New York International Radio Festival.
