About Shane Bourne
AFI award-winner Shane Bourne has been a respected actor since the early 80s. One of Australia's favourite comedians, he gained national popularity on Hey Hey It's Saturday presenting the Great Aussie Joke segment. His most recent role was on ABC-TV's drama series MDA.
He has since appeared in numerous television programs including Blue Heelers, The Flying Doctors, Cody, The Burnout, Cop Shop, The Sullivans and Prisoner. Shane has guest hosted Hey Hey It's Saturday, The Midday Show, Tonight Live, In Melbourne Tonight and Blankety Blanks.
Shane made his debut appearance on television at the tender age of ten, performing on the "Happy Hammond Show" as "Shane Bourne and his Miming Prawns". Shane's live stand up appearances have made him a favourite at Clubs, Theatres and Comedy Venues across the country. The inclusion of original comedy songs in his act has had audiences in stitches nationwide.
His consummate skill and versatility put him in high demand on the corporate circuit. His vast experience, professionalism and relaxed stage manner make him an asset to any event, whether he is performing a stand up comedy spot or presiding as Master of Ceremonies.
