About Tony Laffan
International award winning illusionist Tony Laffan is one of the “hottest” performers on the Australian entertainment scene and true innovator of modern magic. Tony first learnt the craft of magic performing for his family as a child.
Growing up in a coal mining town in Central Queensland, he learnt how to unicycle, juggle, fire-eat, stilt-walk and perform magic. He moved to Brisbane with his family and the opportunities to turn his hobby into a career performing his illusion show over 1800 times at Dreamworld.
He was also the resident magician on the national Logie Award winning children’s television show Cartoon Connection. Already an Australian success story and the countries' premier illusionist, Tony left Australia to tour throughout Europe and Asia.
A career highlight for Tony was performing on the beautiful Canary Islands, Spain, for a six-month season at 'Casino Palace', one of Europe's top six venues.
In 1999 Tony returned to Australia to perform his show "Millennium Magic" at Wonderland Sydney. Originally booked for the holiday season the original contract was extended through to 2004 totalling 2500 shows.
Over the past 15 years Tony has received many awards including: “Entertainer of the Year”, Sight Act of the Year” and “Illusionist of the Year”. These days Tony performs close-up magic, comedy magic and grand illusion shows on the corporate entertainment circuit.
