About Caroline O'Connor
Caroline O’Connor’s career in cabaret has encompassed all areas of the entertainment industry and has seen her emerge as one of the most versatile and respected performers in both England and Australia.
In London's West End she was a member of the Original cast of Me and My Girl and the Revival of Cabaret. For her performance in Mack & Mabel she was nominated for the 1996 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. She also performed at the 1995 Royal Variety Performance in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen.
In Australia she played the role of 'Anita' in West Side Story. For her performance she won the prestigious Australian Entertainment 'MO Award' for outstanding performance in a musical. In 1998 Caroline played the role of 'Velma Kelly' in the Australian production of Chicago for which she won the 'MO Award' for "Female Musical Theatre Performer of the Year".
In 2000 Caroline played the featured role of 'Nini Legs-in-the Air' in the Baz Luhrmann Movie Moulin Rouge alongside Nicole Kidman.
Other performance highlights include: the role of Aldonza in Man of La Mancha with Anthony Warlow, a feature in the Irwin Winkler film De Lovely where she portrays musical legend Ethel Merman. In this dazzling performance Caroline sings the hit song 'Anything Goes'. The film starring Kevin Kline and Ashley Judd screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
