About Troy Cassar-Daley
Troy Cassar-Daley is a singer and songwriter who has made a huge impact on the country music scene since he first hit the stage in Tamworth as a teenager in the early 90’s.
Troy first visited Australia's premier Country Music Festival at Tamworth as a 11 year old boy. He was so overwhelmed by the experience that he was back a year later busking in the streets. And so began his career in music.
By age 16 Troy's band, Little Eagle, was touring the North Coast of NSW, and while still a teenager Troy made the top 10 in Tamworth's 'Star Maker' quest and in 1996 won the 'Search For A Star' competition.
Following this success Troy toured the outback where he began to develop and hone his songwriting skills. Returning to his home town Grafton, Troy became the lead singer in country group The Blue Heeler Band.
In January 1995 his debut album Beyond Dancing was released to wide critical acclaim. Troy went on to win the prestigious 1995 ARIA Award for 'Best Country Record', and later toured nationally with the Highwaymen.
Since then Troy has gone from strengtht o strength as both a songwriter and a singer. He has won many of country musics major awards including four Golden Guitars.
Troy has also made a cameo appearance in the American motion picture "Race The Sun" which starred James Belushi and Halle Berry, performing a song in a bar scene set in the Australian Outback.
Highly respected by all of his peers, Troy Cassar-Daley is undoubtedly one of the finest musical artists in Australia.
