About Max Gillies
Max Gillies is famed as Australia's most accomplished impersonator and political satirist. For years he has been putting egg on politicians' faces to the delight of audiences in the theatre and on television.
His characterisation of leading political figures like John Howard, Bob Hawke, Malcolm Fraser and Amanda Vanstone to name a few have made us all laugh for more than a decade.
His satirical stage revues have included A Night with the Right (1981), A Night of National Reconciliation (1983), The Gillies Summit (1986), Gillies Live at the Club Republic (1996) and You're Dreaming: The Prime Minister's Cultural Convention (2001). Three television shows in the same satirical vein have screened on the ABC: The Gillies Report (1984), Gillies Republic (1987) and Gillies and Company (1991).
On the stage he has appeared in Babe in the Woods and spent two seasons with The Australian Opera in Fiddler on the Roof as well as appearing in everything from the stage musical Happy Days to The Little Shop Of Horrors.
In 1990, Gillies was inducted as a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the Australian Theatre. Max is in high demand for corporate events, particularly as "John Howard". Each performance Max delivers is specifically tailored for your event.
His show represents uproarious, constantly thought-provoking lampoonery that should not be missed if you hanker for the best kind of political satire.
