About Mary Coustas
Mary Coustas is a Logie Award winning actor, comedian and writer, also well known by her alter ego Effie. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Performing Arts and a sub major of Journalism and has many stage and screen credits to her name.
She is well known for her performance as Effie in Wogs out of Work and the television series Acropolis Now. She won a Logie award for Best Comedy Performer for her character Effie. On stage, Mary went on to appear in the record breaking theatrical shows Wog A Rama and her one woman show Waiting for Effie, which toured nationally throughout Australia.
Mary's other television credits include Skirts, Wildside, Grass Roots and The Secret Life of Us. She also earned herself an AFI Nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Mull, she also appeared in Nirvana Street Murder and Hercules Returns.
Mary has recently completed her latest television show Greeks on The Roof based on her character Effie's, family home television Studio. As Effie has so much to say, Mary has allowed her to write a book, Effie's Guide To Being Up Yourself.
In the corporate arena Effie is often called upon to deliver a stand-up comedy show or to MC various events. She's even been known to give her opinion during debates and on panel discussions
