About Richard Fidler
Richard Filder is the host of ABC Television's arts and culture show Vulture. Prior to this he was creator and host of the technology series Aftershock.
Richard began his career in television with anarchic comedy group the Doug Anthony Allstars (DAAS). With the group he performed on shows such as The Big Gig and DAAS Kapital for the ABC. In 1997-98, Richard was writer and presenter of Race Around the World for the ABC which became perhaps the most talked-about show of 1997.
He was also host of Arena's The Hub. Richard also works in digital media as a writer, an artist and animator. He has won an AIMIA award for his work on Real Wild Child, an interactive history of Australian Rock 'n' Roll. He has recently been Editorial Manager of TV Comedy for ABC TV, responsible for such programs as The Glasshouse.
In 1999, Richard had a morning spot on Triple J with Adam Spencer. In his half hour slot, Dick Predicts, he would use his all-seeing, all-knowing, mystical powers to predict the future. He left this spot for a shift on Cosmopolitan radio, on Sunday nights 2DAY FM in Sydney and FOX FM in Melbourne and other stations around the capital cities of Australia.
What many don't know about Richard is that he has a Masters in Political Science from the Australian National University.
