Richard Scholes has been entertaining audiences around the world for almost 20 years. He has toured Australia with Billy Connelly, Japan with Peter Andrea and worked with Jo Labero in Sweden for 2 years in the spectacular "Illusions" stage show.
Since winning 'Best Speciality Act' at the 1995 Australian Entertainment Mo Awards, Richard has stunned audiences on a forty-eight Show Concert Tour with Billy Connelly, appeared in a successful two year season at Jupiters Casino and for eighteen months captivated the 'theatre-goers' of Europe.
Richard creates a unique theatrical event by using his collection of masks, varying from the abstract to the realistic and combining comedy and pathos with world-class magic and mime, to touch the heart and tickle the funny-bone of all his audiences.
His unique act has graced stages with such stars as Shirley MacLaine and B.B. King, his ‘Close-up’ magic and ‘magic of mime’ stunning audiences wherever he goes. He has also become a regular on the world’s most luxurious cruise ships, including the QE2.
Richard was appointed Director of Mime, Movement and Puppetry for the Royal Queensland Theatre Company’s production of Animal Farm.
He was a 1994 MO Award nominee for Best Specialty Performer and his talents have been justly rewarded in Queensland by winning Entertainer of the Year, Sight Act of the Year and Cabaret Act of the Year Awards.
