About Lee Lin Chin

Lee Lin Chin grew up and went to school in Singapore. Her media career began in broadcasting there in both television and radio in 1968. She arrived in Australia in 1980 and began working in SBS, translating Chinese language films.

But radio beckoned again and Lee Lin went back on air with ABC Radio in Newcastle and then Darwin. Her varied career has seen Lee Lin news reading, researching, reporting, interviewing, selecting and programming music, doing voice-overs for commercials and making in-flight programs for international airlines.

Over the years her on-air experience has gained her a reputation for being a highly professional and respected broadcaster. Given her intense interest in international and social affairs, Lee Lin was pleased to be appointed SBS newsreader and to become part of the respected World News team in 1988.

Off-camera, Lee Lin is well travelled and well read. She is a lover of music, a photographer, and a serious film buff.
