About Mark Beretta
Mark Beretta is doing what he loves most - talking about sport. Mark presents the breaking sport stories of the day, as sport presenter for Channel Seven's Sunrise program each weekday morning. He also hosts and commentates on many of Seven Sport's major events.
He is a veteran of four Olympic Games broadcasts, Mark played a major role in Seven's coverage of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. He commentated the gold medal winning performance of Australia's Alisa Camplin in the Freestyle Aerials, which he describes as his career highlight!
Mark began his career in journalism at radio 3GL, Geelong in 1988. The following year he moved to Triple M, Melbourne as a sports reporter, working alongside Richard Stubbs and the D-Generation. In 1994, Mark signed with Channel Ten to present and report its National Basketball League coverage. His work impressed executives at Seven Melbourne and within a year, Mark was working as a sports reporter for the Seven Network.
While sport has always been his first love, Mark's other interests initially led him to the corporate sector. After graduating with an Engineering Degree, Mark worked with BHP, Arthur Anderson and Honeywell.
Mark was himself a champion skier in his day, albeit on the water. He was a 10-time Australian water-skiing champion during the 1980s before turning his attention to sports journalism and broadcasting.
