About Jamie Durie
Logie winner, Jamie Durie, has made a reputation as one of Australia's leading garden designers; he has written gardening books and hosted Channel Nine's high rating gardening and home renovation programs Backyard Blitz, The Block and Renovation Rescue.
In 2001 Jamie received the Logie for Most Popular New Male Talent and Backyard Blitz won the Logie for Most Popular Lifestyle Show. His other television credits include hosting Dig This, a series of short gardening programs for Foxtel.
Jamie's career began rather differently - he was a dancer, model and gymnast who has also performed as an acrobat and trapeze artist and trained with the Cirque du Soleil. In 2001 Jamie relished the chance to again explore the world of Cirque du Soleil and hosted the one-hour special Cirque du Soleil Alegro for the Nine Network.
Jamie spent much of his earlier years working and travelling abroad, however, his underlying passion for landscape design and architecture brought him home permanently in 1997 to pursue a career in this field.
Jamie has an associate diploma in landscape design and has run his own landscape design business since 1997.
The business now specialises in high end, residential and commercial landscape design with commissions in Europe, Asia, US, NZ and Australia. He is principal designer and sole director of the business.
