About Ian Elliot

Ian Elliot spent 30 years in the advertising industry, rising from mail boy to Chairman and CEO of Australia's largest advertising agency, George Patterson.

A specialist in the area of brand strategy and competitive advantage, having been involved in campaigns for national and international clients such as CUB, Arnotts and Panasonic, he is best known as the architect of the YES Optus brand campaign one of the most successful campaigns in Australian telecommunications history.

In 1993 he successfully completed the Harvard Business School International Senior Management Program and was selected as Valedictorian.

Ian is widely recognised as one of the most successful new business winners in Australian advertising, delivering $250 million in accounts during his time as Managing Director at George Patterson.

In 2002 he retired from the agency at the age of 48. He remains involved as a consultant and as Chairman of George Pattersons media buying business which has an annual turnover in excess of $1 billion. Ian is still involved in the business arena as Chairman and Board Member of a number of companies.
