About Shane Toohey
Shane Toohey is the only Australian to have climbed and skied remote mountains on all seven continents. The most remarkable part of this achievement is that Shane grew up on a dusty Queensland potato farm and only saw snow at age 23.
In just 10 years he has climbed and skied on all seven continents and led expeditions through some of the world's most remote and dangerous terrain, in Central Asia, South America, Russia, Africa, eastern Turkey and New Zealand.
Within the corporate environment, Shane has over 10 years experience in sales and marketing, both in Australia and overseas. He has achieved outstanding results as both team member and team leader.
As Director of his first company, Seven First Descents, Shane organised, promoted and presented promotional adventure travel roadshows across New Zealand, America and western Canada. As Vice President of a new technology company Shane led a team of 38 staff across seven business units, in a dynamic, constantly changing environment.
Shane's key message is that strong personal leadership is the foundation for achieving goals, both individually and as part of a successful team. At the age of 34 Shane runs his own personal development company and speaks passionately about the importance of vision, focus and purpose in our lives.
