Marathon Swimming Champion Tammy Van Wisse has swum some of the world’s longest, deepest and coldest waterways clocking up an astonishing 60,000 kilometres which is equivalent to one and a half times around the planet.
She has swum the English Channel twice, is the only person to have swum Bass Strait and swam the entire length of the Murray River from the Alps to the Ocean which took 106 days and 2,438 kilometres to achieve.
Tammy has also swum Loch Ness, New Zealand’s Cook Strait,the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in New York and the Olympic Games Centenary Marathon Swim in Greece. As a human water quality tester, Tammy has long been a campaigner for cleaner waterways and tries to raise awareness about environmental issues.
