About Dr Wendy Sarkissian
Dr Wendy Sarkissian is a prominent social commentator and experienced analyst of social trends with a focus on urban and community contexts. Building a career as a social planning consultant when there was no such discipline, Wendy has pioneered innovative planning and development approaches in an astonishing variety of areas.
Drawing on real examples from a lengthy association with the planning industry, she combines wide-ranging practical experience with visionary flair to offer important insights that people can instantly understand. Humorous and thought-provoking, Dr Sarkissian’s presentations are never boring.
When speaking about the Future of Business Wendy’s challenging and insightful corporate presentations come under three main business themes: The Future of Happiness at work, The Future of Workspaces, Sustainability and the Bottom Line.
She also offers thought provoking presentations for the building, planning and housing industries. These come under the themes of: Dwelling in the Future, Engaging in the Future and Making Places for People.
Dr Sarkissian is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and a Member of the International Board of Global Urban Development. Wendy holds a Master of Town Planning and a PhD in environmental ethics.
Wendy's work over the years has earned her forty professional awards. During this time she has worked with senior managers and advisors to government departments and private enterprise, primarily in the urban, community, housing and development sectors.
Wendy is passionate about our future: the future of work, of housing, of communities and of citizen participation.She lives in an intentional ecological community in northern New South Wales.
