About Barry Bull
Barry Bull is the owner of Toombul Music, Brisbane. He has only one store, yet his reputation is known throughout retailing. His business has won over 30 Westfield retail awards, including the prestigious 'National Individual Speciality Retailer Award'.
In 2003 he was honoured with a Commonwealth Centenary Medal for distinguished achievement in business. Barry's career began in music retailing in 1960, and after hours he would strap on his guitar and play on Brisbane's band circuit. He was recruited by a record company, CBS Records, now Sony Music and rose through the ranks to become national marketing chief throughout the seventies.
In 1981, after giving Rock and Roll the best years of his life, he returned to Brisbane with the ambition to own his own business. Barry's innovative marketing techniques have seen him entice music celebrities and superstars from around the world, including Sir Cliff Richard, Michael Crawford, John Denver, Olivia Newton John, The Corrs, Ronan Keating and dozens more, to participate in promotions with him at his store.
Barry Bull is also one of the Australia's top business speakers and his energetic and motivational presentations share the experience of his remarkable journey. His highly entertaining, multi media presentation, has wowed audiences around Australia, from multi national corporations to small family business. It includes his famous interviews with Sir Cliff Richard, Michael Crawford and Slim Dusty.
Barry speaks about his business Hitlist, the top ten business techniques which have led to his success, and which can be applied to almost every other business.
