About Speaker Ita Buttrose
Ita Buttrose is one of Australia's most prominent women and a household name. She has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the Australian media. She has twice been voted Australia's 'Most Admired Woman' and was awarded a Centenary Medal in for service to Australian society in business leadership.
Over the years she had been the confidante of thousands of Australian women who have written to her at the leading magazines and newspapers she has edited including Cleo, The Australian Women's Weekly, ITA magazine and the Sydney Daily and Sunday Telegraphs. A journalist by trade, Ita Buttrose has worked in all forms of media (print, radio and television) during her career.
Before starting her own company Capricorn Publishing, Ita Buttrose was a director of News Ltd, editor-in-chief of the Daily and Sunday Telegraphs, columnist and editorial consultant for the Fairfax magazine group and then editor-in-chief of the Sun Herald newspaper. She is also the author of six books, How Much is Enough?, Your Financial Roadmap to a Happy Retirement, What is Love?, A Word to the Wise, A Passionate Life, Every Occasion: The Guide to Modern Etiquette and Early Edition: My First Forty Years.
Through her executive and non-executive director roles, Ita has gained a wealth of experience in a range of sectors and combines roles of businesswoman, journalist, author, professional speaker and communications adviser to many organisations
