About Brodie Holland
Wearing No 6 Guernsey for the Magpies, Brodie Holland is one of the AFL’s most recognised players – both on and off the field. Originally from Glenorchy, Tasmania, he was drafted to Fremantle, making his professional footy debut in 1998 at 18.
During his three years in Perth, Brodie played 36 games, kicking 37 goals. In the 2000 National Draft, he was recruited to the Collingwood Football Club where he spent a few years as a forward before convincing coach Mick Malthouse to use him as a tagger.
He hit the sporting headlines in May 2004 with a controversial four match suspension for misconduct. His dark brooding looks and buffed torso saw him dabble in modelling for a few years. He has appeared on Windsor Smith billboards and is featured in the 04/05 Men For All Seasons calendar.
Now 25, the 180cm tall athlete, has played more than 126 games in his career and kicked more than 120 goals. His best effort was eight goals against West Coast in 2002. He has received nine Brownlow votes over the years. In 2003, he played in Collingwood’s Grand Final team.
