About Glynnis Nunne-Cearns
Glynnis Nunne won a gold medal in the heptathlon at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Glynnis. She has also won gold at the 1982 Pacific Conference Games and bronze at the 1986 Commonwealth Games. She has also competed at a record five Commonwealth Games.
Among her many accolades, Glynnis received the Order of Australia Medal for her contributions to athletics in 1985. She has also been inducted into the Sporting Hall of Fame and is a multiple winner of state and national Sportswoman of the Year titles.
She also has an extensive background in coaching various sports and lecturing in fitness including sprint coach for the AFL football team, the Brisbane Bears, and coach of track and field events at various camps for Queensland athletics.
Glynnis believes that ordinary people can do extraordinary things if they commit their heart and soul to their dream and never give it up. Hard work and a strong will and drive go hand in hand and Glynnis' remarkable success is a result of this combination.
