About George Gregan
George Gregan has proven many times during his Rugby career that he has the power to motivate and inspire others by both words and deeds. George encapsulates the true qualities of a champion both on and off the field. He is a successful sportsman, businessman and devoted father.
During the 2004 Bundaberg Rum Rugby Series George Gregan became the most capped Australian Rugby Union player of all time playing his 102nd Test against the Springboks in Durban. Now in his 12th season of international rugby, George prides himself on continually improving his game, meticulous preparation and enjoying the sport.
After making his Test debut against Italy in 1994, George quickly established himself as Australia's first choice scrumhalf, playing in the 1995 and 1999 Rugby World Cups and then taking over the Australian captaincy from John Eales in 2001. In 2001 he won the International Players' Association Player of the Year award and was a finalist in the IRB's Player of the Year and in 1997 he was named the Australian Super 12 Player of the Year and the Wallaby Players' Player that season. I
n 2005 George captained the South to a memorable victory over the North in the IRB Rugby Aid match to benefit Tsunami relief, while notching up his 110th Super 12 cap for the Brumbies, despite missing the latter half of the competition with a broken leg. George's obvious talent stretches beyond the rugby field.
An astute businessman, George and his wife have a successful chain of espresso bars throughout Sydney. George is focused, motivated, powerful, fearless, ethical, inspirational, professional, a devoted family man, and an articulate speaker.
